IN THE LAB
RōG Sports Medicine has supported RORI (a 503(b) non-profit) in a study in the laboratory studying a new rotator cuff repair technique. This technique utilizes four RōG Sports Medicine PEEK anchors to achieve a medial (far-far), lateral (near-near) and a knotless compression pass (click below for Triple Row technique slide show). Utilizing this technique and four RōG anchors, triple row compression can be achieved for only utilizing this technique and four RōG anchors, triple row compression can be achieved for 1/4 the price of other implant companies!”
The study is in process. Our early results have demonstrated superior pull-out strength to control (multiple simple passes). There have been no failures of anchors or suture. All failures have occurred in the tendon intra-substance (click below for video). We have succeeded in achieving pull to failure of greater than 300 Newton after performing 3500 repetitions at 180 Newton. No anchor or suture has ever failed.
